Editors Picks: best bremont alt1 replica watch

Baselworld 2013 is just a few weeks away, and because most of us won’t have the opportunity to jet to Switzerland to see their latest offerings in person, So, I am extra happy that now there are two new best bremont alt1 replica watch  to covet, the U-2 Blue and the ALT1-B2 (GMT) Chronograph. the watchmaking powers-that-be have been kind enough to give us a glimpse behind the curtain.  So, here are a few of the Tick Tick Vroom’s favorite pre-Baselworld releases: the Bremont U-2 Blue & ALT1-B2, the L.U.C Engine One H, the Peter Speake-Marin Triad and the MB&F Megawind. It’s times like these when I love the fact that no one waits until an official debut before releasing photos and details of the newest watches and cars.

Bremont U-2 Blue & ALT1-B2
I like Bremont.  A lot, actually.  Today, it stands as possibly the most quintessential British watch brand.  Therefore, I’m always happy when Nick and Giles English, AKA the Brothers Bremont, add a new watch to their aviation-inspired lineup.

Bremont U-2 Blue

For those of you thinking “Gee, that U-2 Blue looks a lot like a MBI & MBII,” you’d be right.  The Bremont U-2 is an evolution on those two watches and equially inspired by fighter jet ejection seats.  If Mavrick had been wearing one when he punched out of bremont alt1 replica  F-14, he would have known exactly what time it was when he hit the water, as Bremont takes the resistance to shock and magnetism of the MBI & MBII to a whole new level by subjecting their U-2 to a harsher set of stress testing.

According to Bremont, the U-2 is fit for the crews of the U-2 spy-planes who fly at altitudes of 100,000 feet where temps drop to 50 degrees below zero Celsius.  The Bremont U-2 will hit stores in late May and retail for $5,450.

Bremont ALT1-B2 (GMT) Chronograph

While the U-2 was the hottest spy-plane in its day, it is hard to deny that, today, the B2 Stealth Bomber is among the most impressive planes to take to the sky.  With the B2 Bomber as inspiration, Bremont created the ALT1-B2 (GMT) Chronograph.  The ALT1-B2 is actually a take-off (pun intended) of the watch Bremont designed for the B2 Stealth Bomber crew in 2012.  Also hitting stores in late May, the Bremont ALT1-B2 will retail at $6,395.

L.U.C Engine One H

Chopard’s L.U.C Engine One H

Lovely.  That is the first word that comes to mind when seeing the L.U.C Engine One H.  Chopard took inspiration from a classic car engine, bremont replica watches continuing their love affair with the automotive world when creating the Engine One H.  I’m thinking Auburn or Hispano Suiza.  Chopard created this tourbillion movement in-house, and it is absolutely gorgeous.

Chopard’s L.U.C Engine One H Display Back

The power-reserve indicator, with its “Empty” and “Full” markings, is thoroughly reminiscent of a gas gauge.  The top and bottom of the dial even look like the valve covers.  Inside the titanium case is a COSC certified chronometer with a 60-houre power reserve.  The L.U.C Engine One H is a limited edition of only 100 pieces.  It may actually be my favorite watch of the year so far.

Peter Speake-Marin Triad
They say good things come in threes.  When it comes to the Peter Speake-Maring Triad, I tend to agree.  When designing the Triad, Peter Speake-Marin started with their 42 millimeter Piccadilly case in stainless steel with a rose gold bezel; that’s where any resemblance to anything they’ve ever produced (and to sanity) ends.

Peter Speake-Marin Triad

The Triad has three, yes triple, hour-minute indications, all indicating the same time.  Madness, I say!  Along the outer edge of the open dial are the roman numerals 12, 3, 6 and 9 and the words “3 notes, 1 meaning”. (In music, “triad” means a cord of three tones played as one.)

Peter Speake-Marin Triad Display Back

If you take a peak through the display back, you’ll see the Peter Speake-Marin Triad is powered by the Eros 2 movement.  The Triad is a limited edition of 88 pieces, which makes no sense.  Eighty-eight is not divisible by three.  But, wait, 88 / 3 = 29.33333333333……..  Infinite 3s… Clever, Peter Speake-Marin, clever.
Last year at the Basel world fair, Peter Speake-Marin introduced us to the Serpent, an update on one of his classic designs. This year, it looks like PSM is heading a little further into the deep end with a new art timepiece, the Triad. Pushing the number three and its many significances, the Triad features, you guessed it, triple hour-minute indications.

The Triad begins with the trademark Speake-Marin Piccadilly case in 42mm. Polished steel is accentuated with a red gold bezel and an open dial filled with black, red gold, and blue details. Those details take shape in the form of exposed hearts that would appear to bring the triple hour-minute indicators to life. The outer dial holds the roman numerals 12, 3, 6, and 9 in relief, along with the wording \”3 notes, 1 meaning\”. That last bit eludes to the musical meaning of the word Triad, a three-chord note played simultaneously. This parallels the 3 timing complications working harmoniously within the dial itself. Just how useful those roman numerals will be to the 3 independent hour-minute indications remains to be seen.

MB&F Megawind
MB&F’s Horological Machine No.3 (HM3) has been around for a while, and Maximilian Büsser and his friends keep coming up with different variations of it.  The latest is the MB&F Megawind.  (The name is funnier if you imagine Will Ferrell saying it in his Magamind voice.)

MB&F Megawind HMW in White Gold

With the name “Megawind,” it only makes sense that Stepan Sarpaneva’s shuriken-looking “mystery rotor” takes center stage beneath the sapphire crystal display window.  It’s called the “mystery rotor” because, while it looks symmetrical and balanced, it is actually weighted like an asymmetrical rotor to turn and function properly.  The Madonna-inspired (my words, not theirs) time-indicating cones have been slightly changed from other HM3s to allow better readability.

MB&F Megawind HMW Movement

If you have the $92,000 needed to buy an MB&F Megawind, you can choose between rose and while gold.  Max Büsser, if you read this, I will write any article you want, ever, if you send me a Megawind.  Either rose or white is fine.
